running man

As of Friday, I'm the captain of Team Posse; we're competing in the Silicon Labs Relay. I guess I'm gonna be a runner. Yay!

You know, I never realized what a difference the shoe makes. I bought myself a pair of running shoes today, and man do they feel much better on the ol' ankles than my Airwalks! Because they felt really good, they'll double as trail shoes, and they were on sale, I got me some Adidas ClimaProof Radiates. They're also ugly as all hell (see picture), so I can be sure that I won't be tempted to wear them unless I'm actually going running.

So Hippo, you wanna come down here this summer and run with us?

omg they're hideous
wow you managed to get the most gangsta looking running shoes possible... its actually pretty hard to get normal looking running shoes these days. im partial to asics, brooks, and
and new balance... nike, reebok, and adidas making hideous looking shoes.

if i was gonna come run with you id have to start training again.

are you planning on coming up for spring break camping?

hells yeah!
Yeah, I'm going to try really hard to get up there for spring break, but we're closing in on tape-out, which could potentially interfere with vacation plans. I should know more in the near future.

Re: the shoes, I agree that they look pretty ghetto, but the Adidas shoes consistently fit my foot better than New Balance did. There were some other Adidas that fit me as well and weren't quite as gangsta, but they were also not waterproof (thus less useful) and more expensive without really offering any more in terms of support or control, as far as I could tell. Then again, I'm a newbie, so what the hell do I know...

Wait, you have waterproof running shoes? In Texas? You're on crack! 1.Trail running shoes get soggy if you're on wet ground, waterproof or not. 2.Running shoes get soggy if your feet sweat at all. 3.The line "nice shoes, wanna fuck?" will no longer be applicable to you. And Damnit Hippo, update your blog. I miss your ramblings.

It's been mostly raining for the past, ummm, month. Waterproof shoes are a good idea. I'm sure that by the time I actually run in the race I'll have purchased a pair of more breathable shoes as well---I just didn't want to buy two pairs of shoes at once, and wanted to get the maximum utility out of my first purchase.

Plus, like I said, I don't want to be tempted to wear them any time _except_ when I'm lifting or running.
